Porridge Oats contain B vitamins, vitamin E and minerals including calcium and iron. "The stickyness" that comes out of the oats when you cook them is the soluble fibre which helps lower cholesterol levels. The protein is greater than that of wheat so much more nutritious than other cereals. Oats are delicious made into flapjacks if children aren't too fond of cooked oats.
