Tuna really is one of the best sources of protein plus it is quick and easy to knock up a snack full of lots of protein.
Here are some quick and easy tuna snacks.
A quick tuna high protein snack is a tin of tuna in a dish on it's own or with finely chopped vegetables such as onion and beetroot with a splash of vinegar.
Mix tuna in with a little bit of pasta or brown rice. Add some finally chopped vegetables such as peppers, tomatoes or onions and you have a great little high protein and carb snack. *Tip* Add a little vinegar or pepper to add to the taste.
The classic sandwich! A tuna sandwich is really easy to make. If tuna alone isn't tasty enough for you, mix the tuna with tomato sauce or vinegar before putting it between two slices of wholemeal brown bread. *Tip* Tuna sandwiches are better consumed earlier on in the day due to the amount of carbohydrates in the bread.
Tuna Pita Bread
Similar to the tuna sandwich but using a pita bread instead. Add the tuna inside of the pita bread, add some lettuce or cucumber and you've got a high protein pita bread!
Put your favourite salad ingredients such as lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, peppers or mushrooms on a plate or in a plastic tub. Open a can of tuna and put on top. Drizzle over some low fat salad dressing, vinegar or low fat salad cream and you have a beautiful salad.
